It happened. Kindly refrain from passing judgment about how I could have prevented it, or how I could have done more as a homeowner to deter the activity. It happened, and now I’m picking up the pieces.

I was out of town this week. My condominium was robbed/vandalized while I was away. Moreover, it was an all-out orgy while I was gone. I came home to used prophylactics strewn all around the condo on the carpet, all my belongings were taken (two Bose stereo systems, an imported espresso machine from Sicily, my industrial grade Kitchen Aid stand mixer, clothes if you can believe it), broken dishes, stolen checks, expensive Wüsthof knife set gone, flat-screen television set on the ground and smashed to bits. Biohazard bodily fluids everywhere, empty bottles of personal lubricant cast about. Don’t forget the drug paraphernalia, used hypodermic needles, cigarettes burned into the carpet, suspicious “stains” on the furniture and more.

    They left the Bible.

The carpet and bed will most definitely need to be replaced immediately. I cannot sleep in a bed with used underwear and condom wrappers all over the place. There are broken/spilled ball-point pens in the carpet and such. I began cleaning after the Seattle Police Department came and issued a report. I called my insurance company and filed a claim. I’ve done all the right things and am done beating myself up. The claims adjuster will be out Monday.

I spoke with a gentleman at Home Depot tonight because I need my carpet replaced IMMEDIATELY. He indicated that it would be AT LEAST six weeks before it could be completed. I cannot wait that long. Is there a reputable company within West Seattle who can come over, measure, and take my carpet replacement order in warp-speed? Please help.

    Thanks.

If they arrive on time we plan on selling them in the park across the street from the Alaska Junction Qfc at 42nd SW &SW Alaska at 930 am Saturday. Line starts at the bottom of the ramp, up towards the sidewalk and up the hill. Please be kind to each other and let pedestrians by on the sidewalk.

To be fair to everyone we’re still only charging $10 cash each, first come first served. With that in mind, talk with your family, friends, and neighbors to make sure you are going to get enough since some of your people won’t be able to get there themselves. We’re not limiting number of glasses, buying a bunch for others is great, but please don’t buy to resell at a crazy price. Be there at 930 because they will go fast and this is the absolute last of the eclipse glasses we will get!

    Hello,

When I looked out the window this morning, I noticed a man across the street get out of his car (not parked, on the street, greyish sedan with no logo/markings) and take a picture of my house before getting back in and driving away.

Didn’t seem like he was prowling… any thoughts on a legitimate reason why someone would be doing this? Real estate? I love my house, but it isn’t a Home and Garden contender by any means.

Has anyone noticed anyone doing this sort of thing, and do you know the reason?

    Thanks!

I’m getting another delivery tomorrow and will be selling them at the same spot, the picnic tables by the Qfc in the Alaska junction (42nd SW & SW Alaska) starting at noon. Tomorrow is the last day I’ll be selling them as I’ll be on the road to see the eclipse in the path of totality! So excited! Thanks everyone!

There will be food, music, dance, children’s games, and much, much more for everyone to enjoy. Your participation in the parade will help make this event a huge success.

You can see a photo gallery of last year’s parade here:

I’m so excited about the eclipse and really want to thank everyone who has bought glasses from me! I wouldn’t have been able to afford to make the trip to the totality zone otherwise. Thank you!
Not raising the price, I’ll still be selling the glasses for $10 each, cash please. My girlfriend and I will be by the Alaska junction Qfc from 1230 on. (Sorry I’m running late, stuck behind two drawbridges) Look for the guy in the bright Hawaiian shirt with the big smile! 😀 If we change locations I will update here on the blog. Feel free to text me with questions or to check my location at 206-855-5533!

There are very good reasons why there are health regulations for sanitation including animals in establishments. Pets do not excersize the same level of hygiene than people (insert image of disturbing pet behaviour). I have personally witnessed a dog take a “dump” right in the muddle of an establishment. OK. Get it? Now take that visual with you…

My partner also got bit, right through her jeans in a bar. The owner posted a sign asfter that, toot sweet.

Forget the law for a moment. Ask any attorney representing a bar or restaurant about customer injuries or food poisoning. It can and has killed enitre businesses.

    WT,

I hope you find that Madison is just as welcoming as WS. It’s been awhile sincec I’ve been over there but I found it to be a pretty nice neighborhood with a sense of community.

It goes both ways. Our fantastic neighbor of 20 years just had to move away since the house got sold. We dearly miss them. Six months later, the grass is tall & weeded. An occasional pick-up shows up but I barely remember what he looks like. Big dreams, you know; Add an extension, redo the kitchen. What they don’t say out loud is they’re going to flip it. These guys are killing our neighborhood.

Hope you get to know your neighbors in short order and build on to your new community. It’s changing fast here, but we’re still here… C’mon back anytime :-)
