In reply to: Best vegan restaurant choices in WS?
JanSParticipantwow, jiggers…it must be a new month, and you don’t have a place to live yet. You’re bound and determined to offend everyone today, aren’t you?
June 1, 2008 at 9:35 pm #625924AnonymousInactiveJeannie – I’m a Republican and I don’t possess ANY of the qualities you posted.
So, I guess your view of a Republican is a little skewed. Do you actually know any personally?
I don’t want to stir things up (I really mean that), but I do have to say, out of ALL the liberals I know, Jiggers’ examples describes a lot of them. I wouldn’t have used those same words, but….
June 1, 2008 at 9:32 pm #625923JanSParticipantI keep thinking what a boring world it would be if we were all like jiggers. Maybe the people who rent to women only have a reason…although I doubt you’ll find an ad advertising that unless it’s for a share. It’s illegal to discriminate because of gender, sexual orientation, etc.
Now..if it’s a house that would rent you a room, , well, they want you to fit in…can you do that? You’re not a stupid man, jiggers…I get that….so use the brains that the goddess gave you, and think before you open your mouth…just an observation..:)

ellenaterMemberhahaha, nice one.
Maybe their stock will finally go back up. Maybe mer-ristas would do the trick.
That resistance person is deeply unhappy. He needs a nice Americano.
June 1, 2008 at 9:27 pm #625922JimmyGMemberThat’s rich Jiggers–passive-aggressive?
Pot. Kettle. Black.
June 1, 2008 at 9:26 pm #621389In reply to: Hot for Hillary
ellenaterMemberKen,
That’s nice to know. All the die-hards I know are for Clinton…blindly. Ya, I don’t know what she’s doing. Only she knows. But there does seem to be an element of manic there. She thought she had it in the bag. I wonder if she stayed with Bill to be some kind of superteam. Oops.
Ya, in terms of Obama, we shall see. I hope he can stand up to the lobbyists.
I like what you said about sacrifice, Charlabob. It needs to be personal and we need to stop passing the buck blindly to politicians. It’s inevitable that some of the bad juju we’ve put out there for so long will come back to us. Hmmm. Gas prices.
BTW, you can see all of Obama’s speeches on his website. You can also see a lot of them on You-Tube.
June 1, 2008 at 9:23 pm #625921JiggersMemberWhy JenV? I want to be a sharp craw in their little world they have. It makes it more fun when your ganged up against by people who have different views from you. I love a good smack down because I can dish it back. To much passive-aggressive people out here all talk. I’ve been here 12 years already and know what I’m up against.
June 1, 2008 at 9:22 pm #618742In reply to: McCain ?????
AnonymousInactiveNR, I think quite a few people liked the McCain in that article, that’s why he was so popular in 2000, even among some Democrats. I don’t think that person exist anymore. He can’t seem to figure out what he stands for. Instead of staying the reasonable moderate he’s been most of his career, he’s decided to sleep with the far right. Then he forgets which McCain he’s being today and has to be reminded.
June 1, 2008 at 9:18 pm #625920JenVMembergood lord then, jiggers….move to eastern washington. rent is cheap and there are very few liberals there to offend you with their progressive ideals. your education level would fit perfectly in Moses Lake, Yakima or Pasco. I am sure a lot of people will step up and help you move…
June 1, 2008 at 9:18 pm #625919JimmyGMemberIt’s nothing to do with your opinion Jiggers.
It’s all about the ‘tude dude.
June 1, 2008 at 9:16 pm #625698ellenaterMemberI’ll work that off. Anything but dressing up as a clown. :)
NR, thanks. That’d be great. I’ll post when our search ends. Soooo excited!
June 1, 2008 at 9:13 pm #625918JiggersMemberWell…Jimmy, you may bend over, but I don’t play that game. I have my own mind and thoughts. I can form my own opinion about something unlike a lot of people who seem to can’t form their own opinions but easily are offended by mines. I don’t sugarcoat what I’m thinking. I noticed there are lot of households in WS and Seattle overall that ask for only vegetarians, or be gay friendly or just gay, or female only. Talk about narrow minded.
I guess vegetarians don’t want me to stink up their household with a nice fat ribeye steak…lol
Hey JenV that was very detailed thanks…lol
June 1, 2008 at 8:49 pm #625480In reply to: Cottage School at Gatewood
thereseMemberI can’t speak to the preschool program at Cottage, but my daughter went to CDSA Highland Park for pre-K, and is now at Gatewood for kindergarten and goes to Cottage School for after school care. She had a good year at CDSA, though there was a lot of staff turnover there during the year. Only one person who started the year was there at the end, and she had gone from teacher to administrator. Our experience at Cottage has been mediocre — it’s not the highlight of our kid’s day, but rather a convenient necessity for us working parents who can’t be home by 3:00 when school gets out. The kids get plenty of time to run around outside and blow off steam, plus indoor activities and reading time. There was a lot of turnover in the Cottage afterschool staff during the first half of the year, but since the Xmas break things have stabilized. A new director also started about that time. The two afterschool teachers are recent college grads who seem to have a good rapport with the kids. I don’t know enough about the preschool to say whether I’d send my younger there when he’s old enough – will have to explore more.
Unfortunately I think staff turnover is a reality at many preschools due to the dismal pay.
June 1, 2008 at 8:43 pm #618741In reply to: McCain ?????
beachdrivegirlParticipantExperience is not everything. If it were, Hils would have defeated Obama in the primary season but she did not. I think there are to many current issues that voters are concerned with such as the war that McCain supports and has no plans to end, women’s right such as a woman’s right to choose, global warming etc. McCain has even lost more of my respect this week when not only is he linked to terrorist groups, cant seem to keep track of whom we are at war with, but also voted against a bill that would give veterans the financial ability to pay for college upon their return back from the war. I would have expected more from a Veteran but then again he has a wife who makes over $6 million a year so it makes since why he would not be in touch with the averages Americans or average Veteran’s financial situation.
June 1, 2008 at 8:41 pm #625917JimmyGMemberIt sure seems obvious to me why Jiggers still can’t find a room to rent in WS.
June 1, 2008 at 8:37 pm #625916JenVMemberJoe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised. All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.
Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dads; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republican’s would still be sitting in the dark)
He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.
He turns on a radio talk show, the host’s keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees, “We don’t need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have”.

June 1, 2008 at 8:36 pm #625915AnonymousInactiveIf you desire balance, how about participating in the discussion. Share your opinion with others. This is tantamount to screaming fire in a movie theatre. Complainers don’t ever seem to want to be a part of the solution.
June 1, 2008 at 8:36 pm #625942In reply to: Rant-Democrats aren’t Democratic
beachdrivegirlParticipantbcollins, i have been wondering many of those same questions myself. And that is one of many reasons why although many times I vote Democratic I will always claim to be an Independent.
June 1, 2008 at 8:34 pm #621388In reply to: Hot for Hillary
beachdrivegirlParticipantJoB: if you are reading this i highly urge to turn on your tv and listen to obama address south dakota. Not only will it help you learn about his policies and plans; but also let you hear him speak highly of Senator Clinton.
June 1, 2008 at 8:22 pm #625914JiggersMemberWe need more of TheHouse and I here. It helps balance out the obvious on this forum and elsewhere. I don’t sugarcoat my thoughts that’s for sure. And were am I name calling? Oh brother..
June 1, 2008 at 8:12 pm #625913AnonymousInactiveI think I would just go with jerk, but name calling isn’t allowed in the forum. This is like the 3rd thread you put a flamer in to see what people will do. Why can’t people like you just express what you think and feel instead of taking pleasure out of seeing what kind of reaction you can get. Same MO as TheHouse.
You seem intelligent. You may have views that are interesting. But one will never know.

JiggersMemberOh Jeannie…You clearly can’t see the sarcasm in my post because you let your emotions get the best of you once again.
June 1, 2008 at 8:04 pm #625912JiggersMemberThe question Jeannie….was towards liberalism in Seattle. But if your assuming I’m a republican, you got me all wrong. I must have touched a nerve with you since you sound displeased and retorted back with liberal passion. Oh yeah…and I’m no liberal either. In fact, I hate the two party system and am sick and tired of what and how one or the other thinks. Frankly, I couldn’t give a crap. So what are you going to call me now an independent radical?
