Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.75 – $17.00 per hour
Along with the debacle that is Duke’s I’ve seen way too many places that have sub-standard social distancing and/or cleaning measures. I won’t name the place but a local smoothie stop was wearing masks and requiring contactless payment, but never cleaned their outside seating between customers. While waiting for my drink I saw several groups of people use the same tables and chairs. Yuck! Anyway, lets post about the ones that do a good job. I haven’t been to many places yet but I’ll start.
Circa. Their to-go pickup is top notch and I they are doing a single table for inside dining. A+
The Good Society. They have curbside pickup for beer to-go and their staff are really good about cleaning tables after customers leave. Clean styluses for paying on their tablet. Just saw outside tables too. A+
Harry’s Beach House. No inside seating that I’ve seen but their take-out menu is great. No worries there. A+
Grillbird. I know they had to shut down because of a case but I was surprised to hear that because they were always buttoned up when I visited. Hope they recover. B+
Olympia Coffee. They’ve got a plastic guard to protect whoever is at the register, and they leave your coffee for you on the other side through a window. Now they have big jugs of iced coffee drinks you can get to-go too. A+
Beer Junction. Haven’t sat down in there or seen many people doing so, but I appreciate being open for to-go beer. Staff is always masked up. Clearly marked clean and dirty pen jars. A.
Il Corvo. They haven’t opened up for sit-down service but they have a terrific food to-go program that seems like it changes constantly. Their pasta and pasta sauces were terrific and elevated a normally boring dinner at home. A+
That’s all I got. Leaving off places that didn’t do as well. Where have you been that has been exceptional?
Is health and wellness important to you? Do you like to take on leadership roles and want to align yourself to a company with like-minded individuals who strive to be their best-self (however they define it)?

Topic: Freshy’s Yard Sale!!
Freshy’s Coffee is having a yard sale!
July 25, 8am-6pm: Come snag a piece of Freshy’s history!
As a locally owned, WS business for over 15 years, Freshy’s is a great place to try a unique, homemade soup, a toasty sandwich, yummy Macrina pastries, or a great cup of Victrola coffee. With a heavy heart and in light of the Covid-19 crisis, we have recently had to permanently close our location downtown, leaving us with an abundance of kitchen gear, kitschy goodies and campy gauche. We could use some West Seattle love and socially distant attention to help get us through this rough patch.
We will have a T-shirt table with Freshy’s swag as well as a drink and sandwich special for the day.
Come by for a satisfying snack or a cool piece of Freshy’s history, or just pass along condolences to Amber for her downtown loss. We hope to see our Freshy’s family (new and old) next Saturday from 8am – 6pm.

For some reason that has disappeared, but wanted to get the word and images out that this man that followed me and my dog for a solid 30 minutes, approached me several times after I asked him what he was doing and to back off and quit following me. The end result being he followed me out of the park to my car, got aggressive, and tried to jot down my license plate as I was on the phone with police at that point. Almost the entire time he was trying to film me, and was talking quietly on a set of headphones in Spanish, when he wasn’t asking me what I was looking for, what I was doing in the woods, etc.. I’m reposting so that there are photos available of this person. Someone to watch out for, and not your standard homeless camper or someone too high to know whats going on (I generally find them to be pretty harmless/not interested in bothering me and vice versa).
