    Hey everyone! My partner and I are taking the next step by moving in together and are looking for a place to rent around August. We both currently live in/near Alaska Junction and are looking for recommendations for 2 bedroom rentals (we’re open to any recommendations – from apartments, to duplexes, etc.). Our top budget limit is looking to be about $3,200. Any fellow renters out there have particular places that they’ve had a good experience renting with? Any parts of West Seattle we should particularly focus on, or steer clear of? A couple of additional things for us to consider:
    -My partner commutes, so being near the “C” line is important to us;
    -Needs to be pet friendly for our fur baby; and
    -Either has parking options, or parking available on the street as we both have vehicles.

    I’m doing my own research, but would welcome any thoughts or suggestions to assist – as my partner and I both enjoy perusing the West Seattle Blog!

    Neighbors…once again I’m reaching out as a volunteer on behalf of the West Seattle Clothesline (https://westseattlefoodbank.org/clothesline/). We’ve been seeing a gradual increase in the number of families stopping by and are currently averaging about 20 families/day! Since we want to make sure we have enough offerings to meet the needs of all our clients, please consider donating now! In particular, we are in desperate need of Men’s clothing, especially shirts (all types…dress, polo, tee), pants/shorts, sweatshirts/hoodies/sweaters, and shoes/sneakers. Additionally, we can use a new influx of bedding and towels.

    As you consider donating items, please make sure your donations are in good shape (i.e. you would still wear or use…but perhaps don’t fit, have outgrown the style, or just cleaning out your closets)! It would be ideal if your donations were bagged in garbage/plastic bags that can be closed. This helps us keep them clean and dry.
    The Clothesline is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am – 1pm, and it is located at 4425 41st Ave SW, Seattle WA. A large parking lot is available.

    Parking around churches will be tough on Sunday’s or when there’s an event there. Majority of people going will drive. Schools will have employees coming and parking early and-especially if it’s raining a LOT of parents driving their kids to school or driving to come pick them up. One funny school story is from the Seattle Times. Many years ago due to parents and neighbors’ complaints about speeders around schools SPD did emphasis patrols for a week around schools. Final tally: 75% of the speeding tickets were to parents dropping off or coming to pick up their kids. Noise: unless you live right next door shouldn’t be any noise around churches. If you live by Genesee’s playfield or Hiawatha there’ll be noise when the kids are out playing otherwise shouldn’t be much more than normal noise.

    Job Requirements
    Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
    3+ years of previous general ledger accounting and financial reporting experience is required, preferably in the property management industry.
    • Experience with community association accounting -VMS or Yardi preferred
    • Month-end cycle, journal entry preparation/posting, balance sheet reconciliation
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and computer skills
    • Ability to present information to, respond to questions from, and communicate professionally and effectively with managers, vendors and customers
    • Intermediate to advanced skills with Quick Books Pro, Google Email, and MS Excel
    • Comfortably participate in electronic meetings

    Position Responsibilities
    • Process vendor payments: ACH, registers,and general ledger reports
    • Generate and review monthly financial statements
    • Pay vendors and suppliers within the established time limits
    • Biweekly staff payroll
    • Manage daily correspondence from homeowners/vendors/staff
    • Provide financial information to title companies, banks, owner services, and owners as needed
    • Answer and respond promptly to inquiries from vendors, homeowners, and staff
    • Reconcile monthly bank statements
    • Prepare monthly management fee invoices

    GONE. Looked on my walk this morning and keys were gone. Assuming(hopefully)the rightful owner retrieved. Wouldn’t have done anyone else any good unless Honda keys are generic.

    To be honest, I didn’t know what was going on until they were at the door and I wasn’t in a position to intervene. They also said to stay back. I could see what was happening, but not at a position to jump in. Sorry. I wish I could have done more.

    So you want to boycott the company until they make a policy that puts their employees at risk of being shot, stabbed or otherwise harmed? Those policies are there for a reason – if employees have to act as law enforcement officers then they’d need to get paid a lot more money. There would also need to be a lot of training to ensure they handle confrontations properly. Sadly, it’s cheaper to lose a few steaks than it is to deal with lawsuits from grieving employee families after a shoplifting incident goes south.

    Looking for someone who loves to run and loves to talk about running. You don’t need anything but a passion for the sport, we will teach you everything else. A retail background would be great, but it isn’t necessary. Your job will be to sell shoes and apparel, stock shelves, keep the store clean, and help customers find the right product. Be able to start and hold a conversation, as that is basic skill for sales. Shy, wall flower types will probably not like the atmosphere, as we are a talkative, engaging group that likes customer interactions.
    All hours are available, part time to full time. We have multiple shifts available, and will be filling them as we go. Pay starts at $20.00 but is negotiable based on experience. We also offer bonuses based on store sales. PTO accumulation starts the day you start. We also have an employee discount, and a separate family discount. Free race entries for all races we sponsor, and it’s a pretty cool atmosphere to work in, as most customers are happy to be here.
