rich: that’s ironic, because ben carson is pretty intolerant himself. i can’t imagine a more divisive president. yes, including obama.
i sure as hell can’t tolerate ben carson. but not because he’s black. mostly it’s what he says he believes about people who don’t share his intolerance.
seriously, though. what is it that the tea party doesn’t get about tolerance? there seems to be a neurological blockade in their collective mind.
being intolerant of thinly-veiled racism and homophobia is not the same as being intolerant of minorities or gays. as a matter of fact, being intolerant is not a christian value, as far as i can tell. (unless you all are rewriting the bible again.)
and i think you all know that. i also think you truly believe you’re being clever.
when i hear people bash political correctness, it tells me that they’re impolite, and that their parents most likely didn’t place much emphasis on being respectful to others. that the most important thing in the world is self. my family. my country. my values. my money.
wait! isn’t that the definition of evil?
now tell me: what do ben carson and jesus have in common? ben carson talks about “godly values” as if christians have cornered the market on being good, and implies that you must be evil if you don’t profess love for god/jesus. as if, by being atheist, i must want to kill and steal and be gay just because it feels good. then, in the very next breath, he bashes progressives, gays, and the president and says that america is becoming godless.
do you see the problem here?
