May 2: Zogby’s daily tracking poll shows Obama with a double-digit lead in the North Carolina primary:
Barack Obama: 50%
Hillary Clinton: 34%
Look, for every poll that shows one thing, there is another that shows the opposite. Polls aren’t great, they are often innaccurate.
With that said, Mr. Zogby tends to do better then most (was within 2 points in Texas, Ohio, Missippi, and Pennsylvania), and the “lost ground” the media keeps reporting on, and “erosion of support” certainly is not showing up in his polling. He shows Indiana tied, and Obama up 16 in NC.
And as Clinton supporters know very well, the good cards to have are the demographic advantages, not the late polling surges. I don’t expect North Carolina to be close, even with how badly the mainstream media would like it to be.
This, along with more superdelegate support this week, is really pointing to an endgame of next Tuesday night, or Wednesday morning.
