Does Book Group meet once a month? How are books and films selected?
Hi! Thanks for your interest in the WSEA Classic Novels (and Movies) book club! We meet once a month, on a Sunday at 3–4:30pm, and the books & films are selected by us as a group. Today we picked October’s titles: we’re turning to horror and mystery, with two novellas by Henry James: “The Turn of the Screw” (1898; 138 pages) and “The Aspern Papers” (1888; 106 pages). Both have been made into films: The Innocents, 1961, is a particularly wonderful adaptation of “The Turn of the Screw”.We’ll meet at C & P Coffee at 3pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023; find us at an outdoor table in the back of the coffee shop. All are welcome!
