Michael Lockman* will be at the South Seattle College Plant Sale this Saturday from 10am-3pm. He will answer your general questions about landscape design and specific questions about plant selection. Students in the Landscape Horticulture Program will also be on hand to offer plant suggestions.
All proceeds from the Plant Sale go directly to the Landscape Horticulture Program. And many of the plants (including ALL the tomatoes) were propagated and cared for by students! This is a great opportunity to fill out your vegetable or perennial garden and support the students at South Seattle College. (The plant sale is cash/checks only. The Garden Center is on the north end of the SSC campus, 6000 16th Ave SW.)
And if you have ever wondered if you could turn that green thumb hobby into a career or a small business (the answer, of course, is ‘YES’), this would be a great time to come ask questions about the Landscape Horticulture Program. Students and faculty will be on site all day and available to talk about the program and their experiences.
Finally, if you have not visited the Arboretum or The Seattle Chinese Garden, bring your walking shoes and plan to spend an hour walking around exploring these two West Seattle gems!!
*Michael Lockman is the owner of the West Seattle-based landscape design company WEdesign and an Adjunct Faculty in the Landscape Horticulture Program at South Seattle College.
