Mahonia Evaluation Project Work Party — March 17!

Join the Pacific Northwest Mahonia Evaluation Project, which will select superior new varieties of Mahonia plants for Pacific Northwest landscapes. Most people know Mahonia as “Oregon Grape,” but there are actually about 100 species of Mahonia native to western North America and eastern Asia. So if you think you know ‘Oregon Grape’, think again and join us as we discover these exciting new plants for Pacific Northwest gardens.

For 2018, we will hold volunteer work parties on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month, from 10 am-noon. Activities vary with the season, but typically include weeding, mulching, and related plant stewardship. Snacks and refreshments are provided, and each session includes a tour of the research plot.
