GreenStage summer season has several outdoor performances in West Seattle. The season opens July 14, and runs through August 19, 2017.
“Hamlet”, directed by Erin Day, will be performed:
Sunday, Aug 13 @ 4:30 pm at Delridge Playfield.
Hamlet is Shakespeare’s classic story of the “melancholy Dane,” Hamlet who seeks just the right revenge on his uncle, who murdered Hamlet’s father, married his queen, and assumed the throne.
Director Erin Day is GreenStage’s Artistic Director, who last summer played Mistress Page in our production of The Merry Wives of Windsor. Since moving from Washington, D.C., Erin found a home in GreenStage. She has also performed with Seattle Public Theater, Theatre Babylon, Seattle Fringe Festival, The Washingtonians!, and others. Erin is a member of the Midnite Mystery Players.GreenStage, Seattle’s Shakespeare in the Park Company, will offer four plays this summer during its 29th year of performing free Shakespeare in Seattle-area parks. The calendar includes full-cast versions of Richard II, directed by Susannah Rose Woods, and of The Comedy of Errors, directed by David Gassner.
In addition, GreenStage will stage two “Backyard Bard” shows; abridged versions of plays running about an hour and using the same for actors in each for all roles. Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be directed by Erin Day.
