Before voting on the SODO arena plan, King County Council will have one final public hearing at 1:30 pm on Monday, July 30th at the King County Courthouse. More info from the official press release:

The meeting will be carried LIVE on King County TV, seen on Comcast and Broadstripe Cable Channel 22.

The public will be able to sign up to testify on the proposal starting at 12:30 p.m. outside of Council chambers, 10th Floor, King County Courthouse.

In February, private investor Christopher Hansen presented to King County and the city of Seattle a proposal to construct a new arena in Seattle’s Stadium District with the ability to host NBA and NHL teams. After negotiations between Hansen, County Executive Constantine and Mayor McGinn, an agreement was announced in May, outlining King County’s role in the proposed arena project.

The Council’s Budget and Fiscal Management Committee has held nine meetings on the proposed arena plan. The County Council also held a joint meeting with the Seattle City Council to take public comment on the proposal.

The hearing will be the public’s last opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposal before the Council takes action on the legislation.
