BIZNOTE FOLLOWUP: Westwood Village J.Crew Factory to open this week

Thanks for the tip and pics! Westwood Village is about to see its second grand opening of the month. Eight months after we first told you a J.Crew Factory store was on the way, it’s opening this Thursday (September 18) at 10 am, according to signage at the store.

The clothing store took over the spaces that formerly held GameStop and Bronz’d. According to the company website, it’ll be open 10 am-8 pm daily except Sundays, when it will close at 7 pm.

Are they getting a security guard?

Don’t know but permit files include an electrical permit for “iNSTALLATION OF MERCHANDISE PROTECTION PEDESTALS, MOUNTED TO THE MULLIONS AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE STORE.”

That would be something to ask the store,  not the blog. Why does it matter if they do or don’t have a security guard.

Completely valid question, Westwood Village has had quite a few issues with shoplifting from Ross, Marshall’s, Ulta, etc.  Asking the WSB is always a good idea because they know pretty much everything that happens on our peninsula.

Not asking the wsb administrator, asking as a whole to the community who may frequent this site and might know the answer due to their connections. Its a blog with comments for conversation afterall.

  • Dissapointed! September 20, 2025 (1:24 pm)

As a long time shopper of the J Crew, I was really looking forward to this smaller outlet store. The clothes were fine, what was dissapointing was the staff.  Not one person offered a hello or if they could help me find anything.  Wow.  And there were at least 4 staff roaming the store. And they were helping other customers with hellos, etc.  I even made eye contact and smiled with at man folding clothes on their mobil folding cart.  He said nothing. The management needs to work with the staff on customer service.  Until then, I’ll go back to ordering online or frequenting the other J Crew outlets that have more to offer – both with items and customer serivice!

I visited the store yesterday and found the staff to be almost over friendly and trying to be helpful. it seemed as if every 5 ft someone was stepping forward to welcome me and offer to help me find something. Perhaps they sensed my need for a makeover.  😋

      J. Crew Factory is not an outlet store. They don’t sell overstocked/past season units from mainlined J. Crew. They’re a downmarket sub-brand.

Super friendly staff! Great use of space considering it was two stores! Can’t wait to see what all they have in coming months

Yay for Westwood Village. Keep things affordable. xoxoWe need an upscale Goodwill.

Westwood Village would be a great place for food trucks and thrift stores like an upscale Goodwill. We can be stylish and affordable. :)

Sorry, comment time is over.
