Just published on our partner site White Center Now, an update from today’s court hearing for the 23-year-old man arrested in the double shooting early Sunday that killed one man and injured another, including details from the court-document narrative. Read the update here. The suspect’s bail is set at $2 million; a charging decision is expected by Wednesday.
It would be interesting to know where the drunk driver came from, like was it from a bar in the White Center community or nearby?
So, if I follow, guy drives drunk, passes out and hits a car. His cousin sees, tries to leave the scene with him, people intervene and the cousin responds by shooting them for trying to stop him from covering up a DUI. Now a man is dead over a fender-bender. Wow.
Youthful stupidity, guns (and probably alcohol) don’t mix…
Hit n run or not? Drunk or not you can’t assault people. My guess is these two guys thought they were top flight security for the night and what they deserved for not minding their own business. People who stick their noses where they don’t belong get punished. I feel bad for the young man who is now going to be on trial for his life! Who will get a truck for a lawyer who will be trying to push hard for a plea deal so they don’t have to go to trial and save money. If I could tell him and his family one thing that is take this to trial and keep you mouth shut. Ask for a bench trial where the judge solely looks at the case to see if and where you broke the law. If you where scared for life and being attacked and in the moment fired to protect yourself you will not go to prison for murder. Case closed. But if you take a jury trial you will be hoping 12 people “feelings” feel for you. Your public attorney will try and convince you to take the jury trial because it will give you better odds. Not true when you want a decision based on facts and the law. Even if Washington is an equal force state. Which means you are supposed to wait until you are fired upon before shooting someone out of self defense. Which is bullshit that the cops get away with shooting someone with a knife and we don’t.good luck and stay strong. Don’t be a hero. That’s why we pay police.

Ah, the classic “they tried to stop me from assisting my cousin flee the scene of a crime so I murdered them” defense. Hope they throw the book at this trash.
