The first and foremost thing to know about Memorial Day is that it is a tribute day to all of those men and women who served in the USA’s military and made the ultimate sacrifice for America and freedom.

The only reason we have this 3-day weekend is nearly one million soldiers who have given their lives for us. Pay respects this afternoon at Forest Lawn Cemetery service (near Home Depot) at 2:00 PM. There will be many Veterans graves decorated with flags.  Also, the beautiful tribute at Arlington National Cemetery with gold star families earlier today can be viewed online. God bless. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day honors those who died while serving;  it is of solemn and honored significance.  It is not appropriate to wish a “Happy Memorial Day”.

A better tribute to the fallen?  Ensuring that they didn’t die in vain fighting for a country that is rapidly becoming unrecognizable,  and for many, a Darwinian struggle for economic survival.
