From the dumped-likely-stolen file: Schwinn bike

From the WSB inbox:

Bike found in alley near 40th and Oregon at around noon on Thursday, July 21. Appears to have been stolen and stripped of the seat and pedals. I have filed an online report to Seattle Police. Please email jbutzerin@hotmail.com if you can identify the owner.

Rim brakes on a wheel that has a 180-200 brake rotor. I suspect this is a Frankenstein bike that was assembled from other stolen bikes in a chop shop, used for another property crime, and has now been abandoned as trash.

Thanks for the info.   I did notice the weird collection of different parts, but thought it might be someone’s project/hobby.  Should have known.

That thing’s already been through a chop shop… Try Bikeindex if you can find a serial. When nobody gets back to you you can donate to Bike Works in Columbia City. They’ll make something of the parts.

Thanks so much.   Creeps me out having it around, so I thank you for the tips on how/where to get rid of it properly.

Truthfully this bike is junk. Its very cheap and people throw these away all the time. Its not worth 20.00.

Sorry, comment time is over.
