WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Another stolen e-bike

That’s Sarah‘s e-bike, taken by whoever broke into her car at Genesee/Avalon: “They stole my Rad Power Bike and $200 worth of outdoor gear.” If anyone finds the bike, she has the serial number – we’ve reported on a couple stolen e-bikes lately that were dumped not far from where they were taken.

So sorry, good luck, I hope you get it back. I had an e-bike stolen  once (my fault, senior moment, forgot to lock it). When I called  homeowners insurance they were going to replace it, until they found out it was electric. I found there was an exclusion for any motorized bike, skateboard, etc.

The owner should post this on the Seattle Area Stolen Bikes facebook page – lots of Rad bikes being stolen lately and lots of people are checking encampments daily. Hopefully this bike is already on Bike Index.

I called and asks specifically about renters insurance that covers electric bikes. Mine is a class 1 and the insurance I got said, and confirmed by email, that it covers that (obviously legal wording of that could still get me but they confirmed my class 1 fits their guidelines). You might just need to shop around cause I think Rad bikes are Class 3 and might need different insurance.

Sorry, comment time is over.
