About the emergency response in 3000 block California

For everyone texting to ask: Big response but small incident at the apartment complex at 3033 California SW – believed to be a kitchen situation (aka “food on the stove”). Most of the units should be clearing before too long.

Samantha, *Always* a large response for calls such as this so they will have enough equipment and personnel if necessary. The first arrivers then assess the situation, and if it doesn’t require all of the units they will report that and the extra units will be canceled. Too few units being called can and has cost loss of life. —Mike

Perhaps the large call out was because it is a senior apartment building.

Any type of apartment building – or single-family house or other residential building – will get a “full response” until they know what’s going on.

I’m in the Junction and I’ve been hearing big sirens throughout the day.
