PHOTOS: Turkey (?) turns up in another West Seattle neighborhood

Same turkey (at least, that’s the majority vote on ID so far) as last Sunday in Seola? Charles sent the top photo today after the big bird showed up in his backyard near Lincoln Park; Jon sent the photo below after a backyard visit in Fauntleroy on Friday:

As noted last weekend, the previous wave of turkey sightings was right about this time three years ago.

Yummy, Thanksgiving will come early for some lucky family.

Looks a little skinny for Indigenous Peoples Day festivities. Besides you want PETA lodging protest for murdering West Seattle fowl? Better call turkey sitters

I was going to say he showed up to the barbecue early.

So unoriginal. Can’t we please just enjoy a wild bird for 5 minutes without someone wanting to kill and eat it?

Definitely a female turkey.  Take it from a former WSeattlite who moved back to Massachusetts after 33 years, these guys are now abundant here and it is nearing the end of mating season.  Poor gal is probably looking for a guy.

That’s interesting because I practice vegan. The store has vegan mayo and tofurky and a turkey shows up as if they have there secrets. Like peacocks that should be walking around the city. Because there’s other creatures that are monsters that hunt us people that are crazy like hiding ghosts which kill. Thanksgiving dinner is good though. If it could just be changed a bit.

I highly recommend the PBS documentary “My Life as a Turkey”.  Contrary to popular belief, turkeys are highly intelligent creatures.  Amazing she has survived in the land of coyotes and off-leash dogs.
