Pedestrian hurt near Avalon ramp to West Seattle Bridge

Thanks for the tips – police and fire are in the Luna Park area investigating an incident that left a man unconscious and being rushed to the hospital. According to what we’re hearing via scanner, he’s about 50 years old and was on foot when hit by a car near the Avalon ramp to the bridge. If you’re heading out any time soon, avoid the area.

What time?  There is no time stamp for this.

    12:45 am I think

The time stamp is and was 12:51 am. The only place you wouldn’t see that is on one phone version of the page (requires software customization that we have not yet been able to accomplish) – you can click DESKTOP VERSION in the toggle at the bottom of the page there, and you’ll see an optimized version that *does* include the time. Usually on breaking news we manually add the time for each update line, but we had no further updates on this last night, so we didn’t. – TR

Thanks, I will try the desktop version in the morning.  I check for breaking news while getting ready for the commute to see if I need to change my route.

I hope the man is okay. This is a very dangerous intersection for crossing. There are many many times I have been almost hit by cars while in the crosswalk in the AM hours.

Yes it is!  Can we get some follow-up on this?  How many people have to “almost-die” before something is done?  Can we get a REAL cross-walk painted here?  How about audial warnings for “WALK” and “WAIT”?  Surely this is a high-use intersection warranting these actions – not only for pedestrians, but also for bicyclists!

So to see time stamps on mobile you can’t use the mobile view? I’ve never seen time stamps and I view the site exclusively on my phone.

Sorry, comment time is over.
