Shots or not? No evidence found, police say

We followed up with police after receiving multiple reports of possible gunshots heard in the Delridge/Brandon/Findlay area late Friday night, not far from the recent 32-casings incident. Officers checked it out, but, says Southwest Precinct Lt. Alan Williams, “there was no evidence located that indicated actual shots fired. Also, there were no witnesses who saw shots fired.” If you did see something – or find evidence today (casings, damage) – be sure to let police know.

I sure heard something down in White Center, west of 26th Ave. Two, maybe three loud reports. Could have been fireworks, I couldn’t tell. This was about 2:45 am.

RickB,If you have not already done so, please call SPD and report that to the non-Emergency number. Time, direction, etc. They want to know. It’s understandable great to seek info here on WSB, but we all need to call SPD first on this stuff. Even if we aren’t sure what we heard. The tallies of phone calls to 911 and the non-emergency line of SPD are used to direct patrols and establish statistics and data for future funding of our precinct’s needs.Thanks.

I heard shots fired, close enough to jump out of bed. It was about 1am. The police said several neighbors called. I heard a helicopter show up too. This was about 1am. Approx 5-6 shots in rapid succession then 2-3 a few secs later. This was White Center…I would guess in the area somewhere around where the new White Center Library us being built?

I heard 6-8 shots, followed by spinning tires south of Brandon on 23rd. Called 911, then walked to the corner 23rd/Brandon and spoke with a neighbor who also heard the shots and tires. Moments later, SPD arrived and searched south along 23rd. As reported, they found nothing obvious. Heard later on police radio it might be related to boyfriend/girlfriend issues at 54xx 23rd.

I woke up to what sounded like distant gunfire sometime between 10 – 10:30pm on Friday night. I’m at 17 th & Henderson and the possible shots sounded like they can from a mile or so away, probably North / northwest from my place. Sounds like a match for the 23rd and Brandon incident. If this was a domestic dispute, I hope they get some counseling before their incredibly poor judgement results in injury, or worse!
