West Seattle Crime Watch: Flipped car found empty

Police have a mystery on their hands. That car was found, flipped, at Ferry and California Way just before midnight. Officers told us at the scene that when they arrived, nobody was inside; they were trying to find out if anyone saw what happened, or who had been driving.

I doubt there was much of a mystery… Go to the registered owner’s house and you likely would have found a drunk person trying to sober up before the cops came. I’d be interested to hear whether the driver was located or not.

Already have the followup messages out. More often, these tend to be stolen cars.

same thing happened in front of my apartment on harbor ave around 10 years ago. we heard a crash, came outside to see what was going on and found the car in the middle of the street but no one around. we called the police and reported it, later found out that the owner reported the car stolen about 5 minutes after the crash. coincidence?
