West Seattle Runner: New WSB sponsor; happy anniversary!

Today we welcome a new sponsor, West Seattle Runner. Owners Tim and Lori McConnell (that’s Tim, above) invite you to stop by this weekend — they’re celebrating their first anniversary today, Saturday, and Sunday. There’s 20 percent off some items in the store and they’ll have a couch-to-marathon information session at 6 pm tonight, hosted by the American Heart Association.

Tim says West Seattle Runner is the only store in West Seattle that caters to runners. He says that he, Lori, and their staff, are West Seattle residents and runners who will take the time to find you the right shoe with the right fit. He adds that West Seattle Runner has shoes and advice for all runners, whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced marathon runner. In addition to finding shoes and apparel, you can also find out about runners’ groups in West Seattle. Since the first of the year, Tim has offered his own couch-to-marathon class that will help people get ready for the Seattle Marathon this fall. Congrats! I bought my first pair of running shoes here (used to wear basketball shoes for running. They took the time to watch me walk so they could right fit a shoe to me. I must say love the shoes, they took off like a minutes off of my 5k time, just from switching shoes! Check em out if you need some new kicks.

Tim & Lori are totally supportive even of non-runners! I’m in the Get Fit West Seattle group and although I’m a walker, they’re still unfailingly encouraging – and, thanks to their support, since the first of the year I’ve gone from very little regular activity to happily walking the full training distances every week and loving it! Shoes, clothing, gear, knowledge – they have it all. So glad they’re here and so glad they’re now a WSB sponsor!

Went from not being able to run a mile to easily running 4 miles and it didn’t hurt a bit, in fact it was fun! Tim is the best when it comes to beginner runners! I know the shoes they recommended really helped, too.

I don’t run but I walk and I found the BEST, most comfortable walking shoes here. My sister from Juneau was with me and also found some comfortable shoes. She and I talked for weeks afterward about the comfort of our new shoes!
They were very nice and accomodating as we also had my three year old very active niece with us.
