West Seattle couple ‘rescues’ tiger – is it yours?

Not as cuddly-looking as the tigers at Point Defiance, but this one is striking just the same, and probably somebody’s keepsake, so Fritz shared the photo in hopes of finding its owner:

Earlier this week I witnessed 3 teens scurrying up my street carrying a large tiger. My wife and our neighbor saw them abandon it in the bushes a few houses away. We rescued it and it has been living in our garage. I would very much like to reunite it with its rightful owner.

It appears made of a polymer, and unfortunately, the youths dropped it before we got it and its jaw has been broken. We have the broken piece.

I would hope that the tiger’s rightful owner would have a photo of the tiger or some way of proving that belongs to them.

If it’s yours, either leave a comment – Fritz promises to check regularly – or e-mail WSB so we can put you in touch. (P.S. – For smaller lost-and-found items with less dramatic backstories, you are welcome to post in the WSB Forums any time!)

I’m not sure, since I can’t see the whole thing, but I think it might belong to the house on the corner of 36th and Hudson (West side of 36th). Sorry I don’t know the owners or the exact address, but I think I’ve seen it and admired it in their yard on walks with the dog.

Glad it was rescued. But, sheesh. Some people’s kids.

Kate, I have email contact info for that house & will forward a link to your posting in case you are right.

Sorry to jump the gun–we just walked past that house and the tiger is still there. How funny that there are two cool yard tigers in West Seattle! I hope the lost one gets reunited with its family. If no one claims him, we’ll happily make room for him in our yard.

considering how many lost, stray, abandoned cats make it to my place, this would be a cool addition if no one claims it :-)

any chance the kids are known/recognized to get the details from them?

Is there any possibility that the teens were the “rightful” owners &/or that there is some sort of misunderstanding here?

Could be – that’s why we didn’t call it ‘Crime Watch,’ and I think Fritz’s report leaves that possibility somewhat open as well … TR

The first commenter is right – the tiger belongs to my neighbor on 36th & Hudson, reddish house set back from 36th.

Sorry, comment time is over.
