An ornamental tree on Avalon is budding out already. Talk about being anxious for spring!

It’s funny, winter JUST started and we’re already thinking about spring…..

    Hey Bonnie,

That solstice is a funny thing. Apparently some cultures (including us, I think) consider it the first day of winter, but many, logically, consider it the middle of winter. Since the solstice is the shortest day of the year, the 6 weeks before the solstice and the 6 after it are the 12 weeks (3 months) with the shortest days of the year. Makes sense to me.

I think late November/early December is much more “wintery” than those late Feb/early March days that are often considered late winter.

Sorry, comment time is over.
