Wind arrives on cue

At least one Weather Service update predicted 2 pm, and indeed, that’s when things kicked up. You can monitor windspeeds here (includes a link explaining the station names; KBFI is Boeing Field and K91S is Alki Point). One comment on our previous post says there’s power out somewhere near Lincoln Park. Also, we have a storm-related bulletin from elsewhere in south WS: The goats coming to Gatewood Elementary to munch invasive ivy are delaying their arrival till tomorrow because of the weather, but everything should be great for the big highlight event on Saturday.

The mega-flag at the (former?) FSA Building on Delridge has been taken down, most likely because of the pending wind.

One 26-year old maple tree down in 3900 block of California Ave, just behind Charlestown Cafe. Watch yourselves and your neighbors while we get through “round 1” today…

I guess it is time to bring in the dogs. The tree house is waving around pretty good.

We’re just a few blocks south of Mt. St. Vincent’s and I just watched our neigbors brick chimney and metal top get blown apart from the wind gusts. Scared their poor dog, which I have temporarily kidnapped. Now the lights are flickering so I hope we’re all prepared if lights go out….If you’re outside, watch out for flying debris..those roof tiles can really hurt. Just heard of power outages downtown now.

Lights have been flickering a bit here in SODO…

Sorry, comment time is over.
