Brown water on Genesee Hill

We’ve heard from two people reporting brown water on Genesee Hill. No water breaks mapped currently, so chances are it’s Seattle Fire testing hydrant, which stirs up rust/sediment in the line. But i it happens at your residence, do report it to the Seattle Public Utilities 24/7 line – 206-386-1800.

50th and Alaska, water has been terrible all day a reddish brown. Reported earlier today and was told to let them know if still bad this evening, has lightened up a little. Worst I’ve seen since I’ve lived here (1987) Definitely wouldn’t drink, don’t care what they say…….

49th and Edmunds here. We are facing the same problem and called the number you shared (thank you) and were informed that they are flushing hydrants and it is back pressure stirring up sediment. They recommended to flush your pipes by running cold water (10 minutes / hour) and do not drink it.
