At noon today it took 20 minutes to cross the bridge. A harbinger of things to come?

I went on a little viaduct tour today (hosted by the WSDOT). I am amazed at how much damage there is from the last earth quake. I can see why there are many who want it down as soon as possible.

I was hopping to find an engineer or two to discuss my group’s ideas for an alternative tunnel under 6th ave. (bypassing the waterfront all together) – Alas, I found a couple who looked at looked at our map and commented that the Seattle TUBE approach had not been considered and that it might have possible merits since it would be in an area where the ground is much more conducive to tunnel building.

Seattle needs a better solution to the waterfront dilemma.

Think about this: http://www.seattletube.org. No closures until the project is finished.

Sorry, comment time is over.
