addParticipantI just got a new laptop and its running Windows 7. So far I am not liking it at all! I’m wondering if anyone here has solid experience/knowledge about this OS and can help me figure out if there are problems with it or if it has some annoying differences from XP that I just have to get used to. It does things like suddenly switching to the desktop, cursor randomly jumping around while I’m typing, really slow to open programs, etc. I’m sure some of the issues have to do with settings but … ugh! Or maybe it’s the laptop?
Ken – I can’t find your email address, is this something you might be able to help me with? Also, I have an old laptop I’d like to give you for parts…
I can be reached at add726 at gmail dot com. Thanks in advance!

KenParticipantwhich laptop do you have now?
I have one that has win 7 but it has a mfg feature that turns off the touchpad when you are typing. This saves me from some mouse cursor jumps I get on the xp laptop.
Mouse problems are usually either video driver related or mouse related.
Optical mice can go wild from a cat hair in the lens or from another wireless device (keyboard, laptop, microwave) using the same channel or frequency.
touchpads sometimes benefit from mfg provided upgraded drivers, some of which are provided via windows update if you go to the site manually.
I can send an email to your address with my cell number.
