West Seattle Foot & Ankle ClinicParticipantWest Seattle Foot & Ankle Clinic has been providing quality foot and ankle care to West Seattle for more than 35 years. We are seeking a Medical Assistant in our clinic to work 4 days per week (30-35 hours).
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Obtain vital signs and gather pertinent patient information
• May draw blood; perform common clinic screening tests such as lab, X-ray and other diagnostic tests
• Assist the physicians during office procedures
• Collect laboratory specimens
• Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment
• Keep patient exam rooms clean and orderly; anticipate physicians needs for medications, supplies and equipment and plan accordingly
• Inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return phone messages as directed
• Accurately update electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintain patient files and medical records
• Provide patient education about procedures and medications as directed
• Submit medical claim forms
• Schedule medical tests, surgical procedures and arrange for hospital admissions
• Support front office staff as needed; answer phones, schedule appointments, greet patients, etc.
• Other DutiesRequired Qualifications:
• 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and/or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employmentPreferred Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
• State of Washington Medical Assistant Certification ; (CM) Certified or (IC) Interim Certified required at the time of hire.
