Stepped outside this morning and took a number of deep breaths of the cool, comforting fog. Changed my whole perception of the day.

It’s supposed to get to mid-80’s later today again. Anyone else get to enjoy the change of pace?

Considering I’m sorta subterranean in my apartment, if I don’t step outside (or crane my neck looking out of one of the windows), I generally can’t tell fog from overcast, unless the fog is very low-lying, which has been a couple or so times in my 19 months here.

Anywho, I didn’t know that it was foggy this morning, until Kaci Aitchison was doing a part Live/part Taped feature from the Ballard Locks on Q13. The Live segments showed how foggy it was, and it was a very cool effect to look up and down the Canal, especially toward the West, with the RR Bridge being down, and a train going across.

I’ve always loved the fog, and the sense of “mystery” as to what is behind it, even in a very familiar area. Although, is what I “know to what is behind it”, actually still there? ;-)

I should probably clarify, that it my eyes that actually love the fog, my lungs; not so much, and my spleen doesn’t really give a rat’s, one way or the other.

As I walked the dog this morning, I could feel little prickles of cool, liquid fog on my skin. Blissful.

I do think that fog is one of the loveliest aspects of our PNW weather. I’ll take it over this damn heat any day.
