There is a traffic light on the western side of the Spokane St. bridge which is set on a timer. Although there is rarely any traffic on the road which leads down from the intersection, the lights change there all day and night, causing traffic on the bridge to stop. I take the bridge frequently and have to stop about 50% of the time.
Where would a request for change be sent, and what would have to happen to actually bring about a change?
You can contact the Seattle DOT, they have a contact section at the Seattle.Gov site. I have had both positive and not so helpful experiences, but it’s worth a shot. They’re the ones that “own” the traffic signals.
I’ve noticed this as well, I think that something’s changed with that light, it seems like it used be triggered by traffic (coming up from the port I think as it was always trucks) but now seems to change way more often and for a lot longer each time.
