MissKMemberHmmm, I gotta disagree on Stellar pizza. It is less than Stellar. It reminds me of Dominos.
Vincent I have to agree with you about the ver serving. Don’t they realize that when a person needs to practice their drink order….they have had enough.

livingonthebeachMemberTalarico’s is not for everyone. The first time there I hated to loud atmosphere (mostly becuase I wanted a more intimate dinner). We go back regularly when we are with an appropriate group or are ready to experience a more “lively” atmosphere. Great food, and the service has always been average to above for us. Sorry for your bad experience…hope you give them another try.

vincentMemberMissK: the only conclusion I can come to if you say that stellar is like dominos, is that you haven’t had dominos in the last decade.
You basically compared stellar to cat food. or sandwiches or whatever they sell these days.

JenVMemberUpdate: I just spoke to the manager over at Talaricos, and she was VERY apologetic. So there is that.
October 27, 2008 at 11:09 pm #645196
beachdrivegirlParticipantNo free dinner to aucution off though?
But glad that you stepped up and called the manager.

October 27, 2008 at 11:17 pm #645198
JenVMemberI don’t think they could afford that, VIncent…. :)
October 27, 2008 at 11:28 pm #645199
vincentMemberI see your bet and raise you a pizza.
October 28, 2008 at 12:32 am #645200
CaitParticipantCan I take a small poll here – which way do you pronounce it?
1) Tal-a-REE-kohs
2) Ta-LAIR-ick-os
October 28, 2008 at 12:58 am #645201
RSMemberNeither- I say Tal-ree-kohs and don’t pronounce the second a. But I’m new ’round these parts and I really have no idea.
JenV- I’ve had similar experiences- lackluster and slow service at Talaricos and really great service at Shadowlands!

changingtimesMemberdoes anyone know if they are going to get a DJ back anytime soon? it used to be the place to be when they had the dancefloor, now its just like all the rest….
October 28, 2008 at 1:18 am #645203
AnonymousInactiveCait – I’m gonna go with #1.
October 28, 2008 at 1:29 am #645204
beachdrivegirlParticipantNR I am with you with pronouncing it like #1.
Changingtimes, they had a guy playing live music there and dancing two fridays ago. I had such a blast, although they defin. over served me. :)
October 28, 2008 at 1:40 am #645205
ToddinWestwoodMemberI figured I couldnt get in there as I am over 23 years old.
I heard there was an age limit. :)
October 28, 2008 at 1:51 am #645206
CaitParticipantNR, BDG, you’re right in my book.
October 28, 2008 at 2:50 am #645207
changingtimesMemberomg bdg!! i cant believe i missed it!!!!!
October 28, 2008 at 3:25 am #645208
TrickParticipantIt is pronounced as #1 says.
Named after one of the owners grandfather I believe.
One of the owners of Talerico’s is a great guy and would be receptive to any constructive criticisms.
I heard they x-nay’d the DJ because of some problems due to dancing, liqour and complaints.
I think the pizza is mediocre but like the NY style size of slices.
I don’t mind the TV’s since I’ll go for dinner solo on occasion, but why sports? I’d much rather watch the news or read Anthony Bourdain on the boob tube….just my 3 cents worth.
October 28, 2008 at 3:54 am #645209
JanSParticipantmmmmm…Anthony Bourdain :)~
October 28, 2008 at 4:16 am #645210
TrickParticipantYes, my alter Ego :)
October 28, 2008 at 4:40 am #645211
JanSParticipantso I should be saying “mmmmmmmmm….Trick :)~” too? hehehe

MissKMemberI just got back from Talariccos, it was a good service evening. I have yet to have crap service there.
As for the Stellar Pizza/Dominos comparison, I stand by the comparison. I think their pizza stinks just as much as Dominos. Don’t see the greatness of their pizza.
October 28, 2008 at 2:32 pm #645213
JenVMemberLet me guess, MissK- you’re probably a regular, right? Of course you’re going to get good service.
October 28, 2008 at 4:18 pm #645214
MissKMemberJenV…..ahhh that’s a no! I have been there only about a handful of times since they opened.
October 28, 2008 at 4:20 pm #645215
JenVMemberok, it just seemed that the “regulars” get better service. it’s fine – I have a place that I am a “regular” at and I get great service there. At this point, I am going to have to assume the BF and I were just not young, attractive or hip enough to get served there. Gee, and I’m not even 35 yet. Oh well. :P
October 28, 2008 at 4:27 pm #645216
CaitParticipantI’m a “regular” but the service is still pretty tepid. But it’s great food and you can have a conversation without the waitress breathing down your neck which is sometimes what I’m in the mood for, really. I really do have to be in a certain mood to go there but I’ve had many a great meal with girlfriends there.
