Riley lost his best cat buddy a month ago and his owner’s job required her to move to another country. I am currently taking care of Riley until I can find forever home for him.

Riley is a sweet 4yo neutered indoor male cat. Who loves his toy mouse and is crazy for cat nip.

He’s an affectionate cat who likes to come up for some cuddles, but isn’t too keen on being a lap cat.

Riley was very bonded to his buddy / brother-from-another-mother Mordred, and needs a home where he can have an older alpha cat (preferable male) tell him what to do and give him comfort.

Riley isn’t too sure about guys as he has always been around women.

Riley has been an indoor cat most of his life and would do best continuing as an indoor cat or having limited outdoor access.

*adoption fee is just to make sure applicants are serious. He will be free for his forever home.

If you are interested in providing this special guy a forever home, please email me at sagek77@gmail.com or call 206-422-9901 to arrange a time to meet him.

He’s a very handsome fella. I hope he catches the right person’s eye. We have not-quite-a-half-dozen of our own guys at the moment, or I’d rush to meet him!

Have you contacted local rescues? They may have a waiting list, but they may still be able to help.

I have thought of that. But it seems like the wrong thing to do, since I can provide a temporary home for this cat and there are other cats in need of help from local rescues.

yes, but it’s ‘safer’ than craigslist and they can probably help in other ways. being you can provide a temporary home that helps them, and they can help you make sure Riley gets the loving forever home he deserves. just a thought…it might be worth a call or two to find out…then again, he might grow on you and have actually found his home :)

I thank you for your concern but I am well aware of the dangers of craigslist which is why I have already turned down two people.

This is not his home as sweet a cat as he is. But it will be until I can find the right placement for him, even if it takes a few months.

What a rescue could provide is to list the cat on their pet finder page. It is a much better option than craig;s list.(GOD PLEASE DON”T DO THAT) Some are happy to do this, so it doesn’t have to come into their rescue. You will be completely responsible for screening.

Please note so many cats and dogs are in desperate need of homes. As long as you can provide the “foster” home it needs.

Well welcome to the crappy world of rescue. It is not easy, bumping won’t help either. As you stated above all rescues have cats also in need of homes.

I do know Humane society has a good month waiting list at least. All other “no kills” turns adults away.

People want kittens which will be discarded after they are not so cute any more.

Sorry to be the bummer in this but this is the reality of rescue. It is not easy but again welcome to the world of rescue.

So what is your back up plan?
