miwsParticipantYou were SO standing out today, in all of your beautiful glory!
You looked absolutely beautiful, as my bus went over the West Seattle Bridge this morning, and then on the next bus on Southbound I-5, and even more so, from a much closer perspective, in my destination of Tacoma!
Absolutely stunning on the bus ride back, along North I-5, as we passed you leaving Tacoma.
And then, coming back over the Bridge on the way home, still standing so proud, albeit back to being farther away…..

WSBKeymasterHey, this gives me an opportunity to do something with this photo sent to us in private Facebook message via the WSB page – it was taken from Orting so there’s not really a WS hook – but since you mention The Mountain:

miwsParticipantThanks for posting that, Tracy. And thanks to whomever sent it to you.
I was so wishing to have had a camera today, but even if I did, I’m afraid the great pic I would have taken from the bus on North I-5, would have had a reflection in it from the bus window.

anonymeParticipantI don’t usually rave (or rant – what’s the point?) about weather, but these last 3 days have been as close to perfect as is possible. The light was just dreamy.

4th of EightParticipantHey Mike(and others); have you heard of ‘The Lady’ on the mountain? About 25 or so years ago on KOMO radio, deejay Larry Nelson was talking of local Indian lore of the lady on Mt. Rainier. She is only seen for a few hours in the morning, well after sunrise and up to around 11:00am-ish, weather permitting. She appears to look westward and up, with her flowing hair to the left side, chin to the right. She kinda reminds me of the profile of the Princess Cruises Line, or the White Shoulders perfume or the Wella Balsam products profile. In actuality, it is the shadows of the immense craters that create that blue-shadow-profile until the sun moves across the sky in the early afternoon… and then she’s gone! Ya know, it took me a couple of times to ‘find’ her, and from then on.. I can never look at that mountain the same without seeing her(IF it’s before the sun/shadows change). She is so cool. Takes up almost the whole north side of Mt. Rainier(actually Mt. Tahoma-original Native name before a white explorer named it after a friend of his who never even set foot here!!!). Enjoy finding her, and don’t look TOO hard if you are the driver up on the bridge looking!

miwsParticipant4th of Eight, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of “The Lady”. Sounds interesting and cool.
I’ll have to remember to look for her.
So, I haven’t seen her, but I have seen Darth Vader, on the eastern side of the Columbia Tower.
I saw it, (someone else pointed it out) when I was in respite care, after my hospitalization at Harborview early last year.
What it actually was, was the shadow/reflection cast of the Gateway Tower/Seattle Municipal Tower.
