kurtigoMemberEVERYONE has to check this place out, if for no other reason than to support these “nutty kids” who had the nerve to open a restaurant on 35th street during this economy. once there you will take in the perfectly executed combination of flawless design, delicious simple food that won’t break your bank, and carefully selected beers and wine (as a beer drinker i love that they rotate the taps often) happy hour pricing on pints start at opening until 6, i believe. And they are really sweet guys…

flowerpetalMemberWe have been waiting for this place to open because we are in the neighborhood and thought it would be fun to walk over one evening. We have been a bit daunted by the crowds and have presumed, maybe wrongly, that it would be too crowded to find a table. Is this accurate some of the time; most of the time…?

dhgParticipantWE TRIED for a table for 3 last Tuesday at 5:30. No luck. We came back at 8pm and no luck again.

flowerpetalMemberthanks JoB. I’m less interested on lunch than a draft or a glass of wine in the evening. Sounds like the luck of when you walk through the door. I’m happy for Locol.

MBParticipantWent with lil brother a couple weeks ago. He works across the street and knew that it tends to be crowded, so he headed over early to get us a table. Great decor, great food, great beer, great waitress! The only thing that was bothersome is that you are apparently supposed to seat yourself, but there was no sign saying so. If there isn’t specifically a sign, I think most people assume they need to wait. Anyway, my point is that brother stood there for quite a while before he figured it out and no one ever told him to go ahead and sit. Then, while we ate, we watched a number of people come in and just stand there as the staff passed by over and over without giving them the heads up. We finally told one woman ourselves, since we had watched other patrons come in and take tables that should have been hers. She was grateful we said something. Not a rant at all, just hoping they add a sign or take a second to clue people in so they don’t stand there looking dumb for nothing ;)

sam-cParticipantWest Seattle food/drink: Opening day’s finally in sight for Locöl
is the food menu still pretty similar (in selection, etc) to what is listed in the WSB story from January ?
On locol’s website, I clicked on the ‘menu’ link on the left, and then the ‘food menu’ link that pops up on the little orange square, and I get a ‘page not found’ message. just curious if they’ve added anything. it sounds good!

CroweMemberSuper dig this place. Very happy to have it in WS. Great beer, great space, good people own it and truly love what they are doing.

sillygrrlParticipantI went in about a week and a half ago on a Friday, and as we walked in a table opened up. While we were there, while very crowded the tables seemed to turnover… Give it a few minutes before you change your mind. I think we were there around 8ish…

CroweMemberRemember they are NEW. It takes awhile to work out kinks in a new biz. Give them time, I think they are worth sticking with. And you know, some times new owners like feed back. Just my experience eating and enjoying new places. :O)

maudeParticipantI went a few weeks ago with my brother. The place was packed so we stood by the bathrooms for about 15 minutes then moved up a little after some other people were seated. We were seated at the bar after about 20-25 minutes. The beer selection was nice and the food was good. We did have to flag the bartender down for our first round of tasty beverage but other than that we had a good time. We’ll be visiting again real soon.
