livingonthebeachMemberThere was a recent post about Cafe Revo with lots of great dialog between patrons and the owners. I promised some feedback after I went. I dined there this evening and it was a home run. Called at 5pm for a last minute 8pm reservations and was seated at a great table (even saw the tables folks were complaining about and thought they were fine).
We must have met every person who works there (Sondra, Kendra, Sofia, Sean, etc..) They really made us feel at home.
I went there with absolutely no expection (trying to clear my head from some of the previous comments posted). Undecided about whether to have the Grilled Polenta and Pork or the Uli’s Sausage Lasagne, I was prompted to order the Polenta. WOW. Sean came out and shared with us how they get that creamy inside and that amazing crunchy outside without drying it out. And the the pork and gravy was heaven.
My other tablemates had salmon, Sofia’s Pasta, and the Canneloni, all were met with great review. We even shared a tiramisu for the table (which was also amazing).
So, to sum it, Cafe Revo definitely worked out whatever bugs folks thought they might have. Reasonably priced, generous portions, great atmosphere and friendly/attentive service.
It will definitely be added to my short list of other WS favorite eateries.
Way to go Revo!

CaitParticipantI agree! I finally went a couple of nights ago and I LOVED it. It was a little loud, it was hard to carry on a conversation also because the tables are really love and wide (at least for four). But let’s be honest – you’re going for the food and drinks. I had the famous Pasta Sofia Bella – FANTASTIC! I HATE asparagus, but I felt some peer pressure from all the wonderful recommendations here. And I ate every single bit of asparagus in there. So good.
Highly recommended. Excellent.

JanSParticipantand, we have to remember that this restaurant has been open for only 3 weeks. It will have bugs to work out for sure….but look at what it’s doing that works well, and compare it to the not so well. I’ve been twice (and the waiter remembered me the second time, from the first time -nice), enjoyed them both immensely. :)

IrukandjiParticipantWe finally had dinner there this week as well. Definitely bugs – from being invisible when seated in the bar to timing of food service. The HUGE upside was the grace and humor with which staff and owners interacted with us when we brought up what our IDEAL would be vs. how things went.
Excellent food, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Great martinis, lasagna, steak. I sure hope they are able to do their own bread soon – the purchased bread doesn’t hold up to the quality of the food they make in house (maybe a deal with Bakery Nouveau for bread?).

SarahScootParticipantI’m putting in another rave for Revo. Just got home from my third visit, and it was great as always. I went with my dad and his girlfriend. We split the calamari, each had a cup of soup, and I had the caesar salad while they split the luna di mare salad. All very delicious and in generous but not overwhelming portions. Our server, John, was very attentive and welcoming, and Sean was making the rounds as usual! So glad business is going well for them so far. Thanks, guys! :-)

ellenaterMemberOur knitting group went to Revo this past Sunday and it was incredibly good. And the service was amazing. I want to point out that is wasn’t perfect because there has been some, ahem, discussion. But they actually overheard us discussing the fact that we would like shrimp in our bloody mary’s and came over to discuss it. I thought that was really cool-their willingness to work on things. I also found all the staff incredibly warm and helpful. The food was, again, incredible. I had Scampi. I like simple, dishes with subtle flavors. Not bland, but subtle. It was sooooo good. Also, we had a great time and I noticed there were many different types of peoples. We felt very comfortable staying as long as we liked. I give them 5 stars! Thanks, Revo.

JiggersMemberMaybe there should be a sticky up here on Revo already.

SivaHPMemberThanks Ellenator for posting. I am glad your knitting group had such a wonderful time there. It was great meeting you all last Sunday. Hopefully, I will see you guys again soon. Whether it be at Cafe Revo or Uptown Espresso.

joshMemberOh Brother, don’t get me started AGAIN!
I’m just trying to forget their chewy calamari and the taste of spoiled tomatoes in my salad…

villagegreenMemberjosh, maybe try not continually posting about it. Might help you forget.

joshMemberI can’t, my food therapist told me- if I keep talking about it I will eventually get better. It’s all part of the cure. Sorry.

SivaHPMemberThanks Villagegreen,
It seems that Josh can’t handle postive comments about the place. We already know your opinion. You can drop it. Because you know everytime you post it brings “Rave Cafe Revo” to the top of the list. So you may not want to do that.
Just a suggestion.
To everyone who have been posting and standing by your opinion (postive) I want to say, “Thank you.”
I know some of you have been harrassed by other people about whether or not you are related to us. I am sorry that has happened.
You might as well consider yourself part of our family! : )

TraciMemberNevermind!

AnonymousInactiveNot Josh’s fault this thing keeps getting opened up.
To an outsider it might appear Revo is the only gig in town when there’s a lovely bowl of Penn Cove mussels and delightful cole slaw complimented by a quaffing pint of RIOT ALE over to the Elliott Bay Brewing Company, located in the heart of West Seattle’s Junction.
That’s Elliott Bay Brewing Company,

TraciMemberElliott Bay is AWESOME.

SivaHPMemberI really don’t understand? This is open discussion right? Which means if people keep wanting to talk about Cafe Revo they have a right to discuss it.
Luigilinguini-I like Elliott Bay Brewing Company too, but if you want people to see your Rave you sould do a separate post so that others can see other places being raved about. Posting it here doesn’t give Elliott Bay justice.

joshMemberNevermind too.

gunnerddogMemberSiva, if this is open discussion, doesn’t Josh in the clear bringing up his sour experience? Doesn’t he have that same right? He’s not trying to silence your point of view, just trying to relay his experiences.
LL, you crack me up.
April 1, 2009 at 9:42 pm #660480
SivaHPMemberYea, he has a right to voice his opinion. I am just saying that if he is annoyed about all of the positive posts that are being said he should think about not posting on them because it makes the post get bumped up on the list.
There are different people posting positive stuff. The posts aren’t being done by the same person.
Anyway, enough said.

livingonthebeachMemberI started the post, so I guess I’ll stop it. My post was merely to give my objective opinion since I hadn’t been there. I loved it, and continue to do so. I too welcome all that WSB is about and are hopeful we can keep peace and harmony on this board while expressing those opinions.
TR and Patrick offer a great vehicle for us to share, learn and grow with our community. Let’s make them proud!
April 1, 2009 at 11:33 pm #660483
AnonymousInactiveWhere are the requirements for making them proud located?

WSBKeymasterAnd with LOTB’s suggestion to close, I will.
