Our Au Pair is from Columbia and is excited about seeing a raccoon. Can someone recommend a place in West Seattle that we can reliably see a raccoon? I see them around the neighborhood from time to time, but I’d like it to be more reliable.

    Thank you!

I’m afraid they are mostly nocturnal, unpredictable critters … dashing across a street at night is the most common type of sighting we’ve had. – TR

They have a raccoon at the Woodland Park Zoo as an ambassador animal. You might check them out when they reopen.

2nd what WSB said. I’ve only seen them when it’s dark anywhere from dusk to dawn. Seen them on 61st just off Admiral so they are travelers. It’s just going to be pure luck on sighting any.

Leave food out and they will come!
