Single parent household seeking energetic and caring home caregiver to assist 20-year-old woman who has cerebral palsy with getting ready for school in the mornings. Sense of humor and positive attitude required. Duties include assisting with ADLs, administering formula and medications through a G-tube, transfer from bed to wheelchair, and waiting with her until she is safely on the school bus. You may occasionally have to drive her to school in our wheelchair accessible van if the bus does not show, but it’s a 5-7 minute drive away. Hoyer lift available to assist with transfers in bedroom. Hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 to 8 a.m. +/- (we are still waiting for our bus assignment). Due to the short nature of the shift, you will be paid for two hours minimum regardless of how long it takes to get her on the bus – you can work five hours, but get paid for ten!

We are in the Delridge neighborhood. Occasional opportunities to fill in for other shifts, i.e. after school and weekends. CNA or NAC license a major plus. You must be strong enough to transfer an 85 pound person safely. You must also be authorized to work in the United States, have driver’s license, good driving record, and feel comfortable driving a wheelchair accessible van (albeit rarely). Spanish bilingual a plus (we are a bilingual family)! We are willing to train on the job, so if you don’t have experience but you’re willing to learn, this is a wonderful opportunity! Interested in learning more? Please ask!

Contact Brian with any inquiries at btang2@hotmail.com.

    Compensation: 20-25$/hr DOE.
