gxnxParticipantThe sign at Lincoln Park says no dogs at the beach and all dogs have to be on leash. And please pick up your dog poop!!
What don’t you understand?!!!

gxnxParticipantSeptember 29, 2019 at 9:23 am #960763
mark47nParticipantI’m sure they do understand. I do and yet I still take my dog to those little pocket beaches. I’ve also been fined.
I still take my dog to the little beaches. I’M AN OUTLAW!!!
September 29, 2019 at 12:39 pm #960772
gxnxParticipantSo why do you do it?
I bet you let your dogs run loose again and poop anywhere they want.
I wish they raise the licence for pets 50% more.
Having a pet is a privilege !!September 29, 2019 at 2:48 pm #960782

CarDriverParticipantI see off leash dog’s on the sand at Alki DAILY. I’m sure the owner’s could care less about the law.Last year KIRO TV did a story on off leash dog’s at Golden Gardens. A man, with an off leash dog was interviewed. He said “it’s my right and only a gestapo police state would ticket me” Yep, sound’s like an entitled dog owner to me. Wonder if he, and all the other off leash dog owners point fingers at drivers/bike riders and call them “entitled”

VBDParticipantCan somebody find the definition of “beach” as used by the City of Seattle? The signage at some of the smaller beach access sites imply that dogs are fine.

gxnxParticipantThe day when I see a cat swimming in the water will be the day when the aliens take over the world, and I wish that will happen sooner than later.
September 30, 2019 at 6:42 am #960857
mark47nParticipantI do not let my dog run loose, I clean up poop religiously and I don’t allow her to bark outside at 4AM. I also accept that I’m breaking the law and I’ve accepted the consequences for it. I bet on the odds that the police aren’t interested in my petty infractions. I also don’t feel bad about it.
We all bend or break the rules somewhere. it’s virtually impossible not to.
So, cry me a river, GXNX, Stick with worrying about Morris dancing on tennis courts and whether or not you need a tinfoil hat due to cell phone towers.

gxnxParticipantOne “small” sin..it all adds up.
The city should increase the pet licences and increase the fines for the selfish arrogant irresponsible pet owners.
October 1, 2019 at 8:22 pm #960983
mark47nParticipantTin foil… I have a fresh roll for you. It’ll keep out the RF from towers, SCL’s meters and alien mind control rays.
I’d be willing to pay more for licenses if it actually meant that the shelter was kept clean and animals weren’t euthanized.
As for arrogant…I’m okay with that.
As for my sin, well…yup, I’m okay with that, too. I believe it was Jesus who said let the man without sin cast the first stone. It’s amazing to get to chat with someone who is so pure that he can cast that stone. Or is your house going to shatter?

gxnxParticipantWhat don’t dog owners understand, NO DOGS ON THE BEACH MEANS NO
DOGS ON THE BEACH!!
Nobody really cares if your Fido is cute, or obedience or whatever…just stay OFF THE BEACH.
October 5, 2019 at 11:11 am #961290
gxnxParticipantMaybe you dog lovers can let your dogs run at the baseball fields at the SW Sports Complex, leave the poop behind for manure for the grass.
October 5, 2019 at 3:57 pm #961304
Ms CinnamonParticipant@gxnx Dude you need to take a walk on the beach. Straight into the ocean.
October 6, 2019 at 10:46 am #961336
gxnxParticipantDO you notice that most of the offenders are whites…maybe it is their “right’ self entitlement , and they are above the law mentality like Uncle Trump. Selfish arrogant indulgent and control freak- do no wrong
October 7, 2019 at 7:59 pm #961443
mark47nParticipant@gxnx: interesting…all white. Like much of the population surrounding Alki. It must be that.
Please! You need to get a grip. Take a fistful of Valium and chill the f%*$k out. If this is what gets your gears spinning so much then you need a different hobby. I suggest you go to the tennis courts and hand out courtesy tickets to those than you think are misusing them. You could go to Lincoln park and scream at people to get off your lawn. You could go to the Jct parking lots and yell at the people who just sit and wait, blocking traffic. There are so many other trivial causes that you could pursue…just think of the possibilities!
October 7, 2019 at 9:35 pm #961455
gxnxParticipant@Mark47n
is that you with your dog on the beach, on your private beach. I guess you don’t care about others, oh wait, you are above the law, self entitlement!!
Hope the city will pay me for turning in these law breakers.

OkakopaParticipantCould this be considered some sort of or kind of an act of Voyeurism on GXNX’s part???

ZmmrParticipantGxnx is doing a good deed, a great job. Maybe we should start a $$$$ collection to pay him
You all must be the ones walking your dogs at the beach and not picking up the poop.
Gxnx,keep up the good work.
@Okakopa-How can it be voyeurism, these are pictures of sunset at the public beach and some irresponsible dog owners just ruin the view….Anyway, great job GxNX, public shaming is the best punishment.
October 8, 2019 at 10:18 am #961525
ZmmrParticipantMy Q is how come those so called responsible dog owners don’t call out those irresponsible that walk their dogs at the beach and don’t pick up their poop?
What are you afraid of? You are almost as guilty as the ones that broke the law.
October 8, 2019 at 11:16 am #961532
OkakopaParticipantYes but there seems to be a pattern here.
All jokes aside…people don’t say anything to the authorities or “CALL THEM OUT” because it is easier to vent here on the WSB.

2 Much WhineParticipantC’mon Zmmr, I get it, you don’t like rule breakers. But to say “You are almost as guilty as the ones that broke the law” is going a bit too far. When you see an expired parking meter do you call the cops? When you smell pot in a public place do you call the cops? If you hear a firecracker do you hunt down the perpetrator and turn them in? If you don’t, by your logic, you’re “almost as guilty as the ones that broke the law.” That’s a ludicrous statement. I am a responsible dog owner. I do NOT take my dog to the beach or let it run on the beach. If I see someone doing it I figure they will get caught one day but I’m not the one that’s going to make an issue out of it. I figure that it is not my responsibility because, frankly, I don’t really care if there is a dog on the beach – that does NOT make me a lawbreaker.
October 8, 2019 at 12:29 pm #961540
skeeterParticipantMark47n you are missing the point when you tell folks to find a new hobby or take valium. What we are saying is that off-leash dogs in parks which require a leash is against the law. Off-leash dogs on beaches is against the law. When people break the law – this law in particular- it bothers us and diminishes our ability to enjoy our parks. There is not much we can do to enforce the law, but you should be aware that your behavior makes people unhappy.
Do I break rules sometimes? Probably yes. If I my breaking a rule – either accidentally or on purpose – caused another person discomfort, I would want to be aware of it so that I could consider changing my behavior.October 8, 2019 at 2:18 pm #961553
mark47nParticipant@skeeter: I’m certainly not missing the point, I’m being intentionally dismissive of gxnx. I realize that my lack of concern for how we all collectively feel is vexing to people in this region but there are things that are complained about here, with true passion and anger, that are just ludicrous.
Dogs on the beach don’t bother me. Clearly. The police not enforcing the laws or investigating property crimes (among a sea of other things) concerns me. The homelessness issue bothers me. Realpolitik of the day bothers me. Dogs enjoying the beach with their responsible owners doesn’t even pop on my radar.
October 8, 2019 at 4:33 pm #961580
skeeterParticipant“Dogs enjoying the beach with their responsible owners doesn’t even pop on my radar.”
I encourage folks to be part of the solution. Not part of the problem.
