Need someone to remove my front yard grass

I have a very small front yard. Between raccoons and moles, it is ripped up. Time to to get rid of the grass and put down bark and plants. But i Just got a bid of $800 to remove the grass. Seems rather expensive for such a small yard. Anyone know of someone or a company that removes grass so I can get another bid?
