Talaki34ParticipantDoes anyone have any experience with GravelPave2 or Pervious Concrete? I am looking at them for my driveway and possibly my walkways. Both are environmentally friendly and so far not a whole lot different in cost, I am finding it hard to choose one over the other. Esthetically, each product would be in keeping with the ultimate look of the house.
My only reservation was if GravelPave2 was ADA compliant, but it turns out that it most definitely is. I also am looking for qualified contractors that install the GravelPave2. I have only been in contact with one which is located in Tacoma.
I have very limited funds, but it is important to me to make environmentally sound decisions whenever I can. Both these systems are a little above what the costs for what an asphalt installation would be, but pretty much within costs for a traditional concrete application.
Any thoughts about the two structures or any recommendations for a contractor that utilizes these systems (especially the GravelPave2) would be most welcome.

kgdlgParticipantWhere do you live? I ask because much of the soil beneath Seattle is “glacial till” meaning it is very hard to penetrate. While pervious concrete is a great idea and looks pretty good, it is a lot more expensive, and you aren’t always creating a better system, environmentally. Make sure first it won’t cause any backup problems against your house/basement.

Talaki34ParticipantI live in the SE corner of Arbor Heights.
I knew there would have to be site preparation, although I hadn’t fully considered the age of my house/foundation versus these types of systems.

dirtyard98106MemberThere are other options as well, including pervious pavers, and compacted minus gravels. We have samples of some of them at our store in West Seattle…give me a call at 206-763-7625
