quimbydMemberHello!
I’m looking to rent a two bedroom house, duplex or mother in law apartment (MIL) under $1200 (does that even exist?) in West Seattle with a lease starting in August, September or October. I say this because I’m currently staying with friends on Vashon (recently sold my home in N. Seattle) and have time to look for a good place to call (my new) home. It wasn’t till I started riding the Fauntleroy ferry that I really spent some time in West Seattle and I’ve fallen in love with your neighborhood. I’m hoping you can help!
I would prefer something to the West of 35th (Alki, Junction, Gatewood, Arbor Heights, Fauntleroy, Seaview, etc). I haven’t lived within walking distance of any shops or neighborhood conveniences for the past 4 years (lived in suburbia) and I miss it dearly – being able to head down to a good coffee shop, bookstore, farmers market, or record store would be amazing! If at all possible, a fenced yard (for the dog), W/D, full bath would also be great.
A bit about me: I am a 32yr old professional – I’m quiet, clean, a non-smoker, pay my bills on time and have good credit and references. I have a medium (40lbs), very well behaved Springer Spaniel, who loves people and other dogs. I’d be willing to share a yard with other tenants also.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

hammerheadParticipantI mentioned one on 16 ave sw. no it is not near many shops but has HUGE backyard. I lived there for 3 years with 2 80lbs dogs. Most places won’t even look at you with a dog. I know the landlords and are pretty easy going.
Has a GREAT view of the olympics. w/d AND Full bath. has a deck. 2 bedrooms, about 850 sq feet.

MichellMemberThere is the lower portion of a house for rent that is $1150 I think. It is on Alaska and 46th, a couple blocks west of the Junction. I don’t know about fenced yard… I just drive by it every day.

JoBParticipantquimbyd…
if you haven’t contacted tracey at hammerhead’s post.. #3, you should. i checked it out and it is too small for me, hubby and two dogs.. but sounds great and includes utilities…
it’s the upper half of a house.. with mom and 2 year old below.
and.. there is a teardown on the 7100 block of california.. no really. they are going to tear it down in a year. but the location is great… and they seem very amenable to making your stay pleasant…

blueskiesMemberIf you haven’t found a place yet, I’m looking for someone to take over my lease in a 2 br house in the North Admiral area. It’s a GREAT house! I have to tend to a family emergency, so I have to move. It will be available Sept. 1st. There is an ad on craigslist at: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/apa/1328763807.html with the title “Adorable House”. It’s a tiny bit over your price ($1295), but I think it sounds like a great fit!!!
Please contact me if you are interested. seattledreamer007@gmail.com
