    Job Summary: As a key member of the Information Services (IS) Department, this position monitors and maintains the operational health of the Company’s technology systems and network infrastructure. This position is also responsible for the development and support of the Company’s database environment and business intelligence tools. This position works collaboratively on strategic information technology (IT) planning to improve business systems, keeps current with potential software and hardware enhancements, and recommends improvements to the IT environment and end user functionality.

    Specific Job Duties:

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Manages and maintains all Microsoft SQL server solutions, including programming/scripting, report development, and database management.

    • Maintains reporting solutions and leads new business intelligence projects for data warehousing and reporting.

    • Maintains viable business continuity protocol to ensure data and infrastructure redundancy, integrity, and availability.

    • Facilitates migration projects to transition from legacy line-of-business applications to solutions that deliver more business insight and value.

    • Deploys, configures, and maintains the health of various servers and network devices.

    • Develops, maintains, and executes technology documentation, database design, policies, and procedures.

    • Resolves server and network errors/issues quickly, providing timely escalation.

    • Assumes leading role in research of new software and hardware technology to ensure operational reliability; recommends potential improvements for all systems, processes, and data.

    • Assists the IS department with general support, reporting, and other analytical needs.

    • Has a flexible schedule and availability to support our systems in a 24/7 environment.

    • Acts as back-up and support person on IT help desk when applicable.

    • Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Director and/or Vice President, Information Services.

    Skills Required / Qualifications:

    Candidates will be selected from applicants having the best combination of the following qualifications:

    • Minimum five years in an IT support role; five years or more work experience as a Windows Server Administrator preferred.

    • Experience in the grocery or retail industry preferred.

    • Knowledge, understanding of, and experience with Microsoft systems, Active Directory & Domain architecture, NTFS permissions, DNS, security, and systems patching.

    • Experience with Exchange 2007, 2010 or newer architecture, services, support, and managing mobile devices.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems (Server 2003, 2008R2, and 2012R2), related software technologies with a proven history of using administrative tools and automating routine administration tasks is required.

    • Possesses a strong understanding and working knowledge of MS SQL programming/scripting and report development.

    • Possesses familiarity and a working knowledge of Microsoft (WSS) SharePoint services or server and reporting services.

    • Practical understanding of networking-routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, IP, VPN, and VLANs.

    • Familiarity with supporting Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access).

    • Demonstrated ability, knowledge, and/or willingness to learn and develop scripting skills-PERL, Power Shell, batch, and/or VB.

    • Experience in using systems monitoring software (e.g. SolarWinds Orion, or another comparable software tool) to collect and manage events and system status.

    • Experience working in a multi-server environment.

    • Previous experience providing support for remotely connected customers and associated technologies.

    • Understanding of/or experience supporting web servers including services, application pools, and threshold monitoring.

    • Understanding of/or experience with backup software and recovery strategies.

    • Understanding of/or experience with NAS and SAN storage technologies.

    • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills required; effective written communication skills necessary.

    • Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves, recommending short and long-term solutions.

    • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify, and isolate technical issues.

    • Assumes ownership of issue analysis and resolution efforts; demonstrates a “whatever it takes” approach to resolve technical issues, regardless of effort and/or timeframe required; triaging as necessary for production, QA and development environments.

    • Proven success as a team member; demonstrated ability to work and collaborate well with diverse groups of people.

    • Exceptional customer service skills.

    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality output while working within deadlines a must. Sense of urgency required. Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    • Ability to communicate and coordinate project analysis, development, and maintenance recommendation improvements to the Company’s IT systems and network; proven ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Proven ability to interact and perform all job responsibilities with professionalism and confidentiality essential.

    • Flexibility and ability to be on call as needed.
