pgillandMemberI run Gilland Window & Gutter Cleaning out of Vashon, Island. I would be happy to take care of your windows, and guarantee my service at a fair price. pgilland@gmail.com

LindyMemberHi,
My name is Melinda Lucas and I own Paneless Window Cleaning. Two people have called us in the past week from this blog, jerked us around, wasted our time and are taking up valuable time we could be spending with “good” customers. Please take any mention on Paneless Window Cleaning off your blog and we will be happy and your wishy-washy customers in West Seattle will also be happy.
In Great Respect,
Melinda Lucas

cjboffoliParticipantMelinda: I’ve been a Paneless customer since 2007 and I live in West Seattle. In fact, I’m sure I must have recommended your services to others on the West Seattle Blog based on my past experiences with your window and gutter cleaning.
I’m sorry to hear of your negative experience with those people. But I think it is unfair of you to blame the West Seattle Blog, or West Seattle for that matter, for a couple of flaky people while simultaneously taking for granted all of the other trouble-free business this blog may have brought you.
I wonder if you considered the people you risked alienating with your post. I’m one of them. Please remove me from your customer list. I won’t be contacting you for cleaning again.

SueParticipantLindy, if you are in fact the owner of Paneless windows, then why were you recommending them last week, in a post that sounded like a satisfied customer, not an owner? https://westseattleblog.com/blog/forum/topic.php?id=744 And you were replying to a post on window washing that was a year old, and now you’re telling us not to recommend Paneless? Something is not right here.

cjboffoliParticipantHmm. Good detective work there Sue. If Lindy is indeed the owner of Paneless and was posing as a satisfied customer to encourage people to use her business, that’s fraud. If someone else posted today’s missive in the hope of damaging the reputation and business of the Paneless owners that would be tortious interference. I just put a call in to Paneless and spoke to David (Melinda’s partner) who said he’d speak to her and would give me a call back.

WSBKeymasterFirst, we don’t delete mentions of anyone.
Second, no one “from this blog” has called anyone at any window company. The only people who are “from this (site)” are Patrick and myself, the owners of West Seattle Blog, and we have not made any phone calls to any business of the type.
If someone is making phone calls and representing themselves as being with WSB, I would appreciate hearing about it at editor@westseattleblog.com as it means someone is out there defrauding people in our name – the lion’s share of business contact we have these days is with businesses who contact us or are already working with us, we have NOT been making cold calls.
Otherwise, if there really is a case of someone who called a business, claimed to have heard about it here, and then “jerked them around,” I’m sorry to hear that as I believe we have thousands of awesome readers/site users. But I would note that we have no control who reads posts on this site and acts on them or does not – no more than a newspaper can control who sees an ad or a mention and acts on it, etc. etc.
Thanks to the wonderful WSBers who are doing detective work before I ever even heard of this post – we just took a couple hours off and this all seems to have transpired while we were AFK.
