LA Fitness memberships?

Has anyone joined the new club yet? What is the anticipated date? What are the prices, deals, and incentives that are currently being offered.

LA Fitness advertises that the initial fee is $99, and then $29.95/mo. No long contracts. I couldn’t find a date for opening on their website.

I have to resist the urge to drive by the site and yell “Build faster!” I have an LA fitness membership, and right now I drive to either Ballard or Southcenter depending on my mood. I look forward to having the gym ten minutes from home.

I cannot for the life of me remember what our rate is–my husband set it up, and it auto-deducts from our checking account, but my husband mentioned once that it was cheaper than a YMCA membership, if that helps.

I called the number they have up and it was just a recording, saying they are coming to the area and check out one of their other “local” clubs no details etc..on when they plan to open.

I cannot wait for them to open!

The original date was supposed to be the end of this month, but it’s been pushed back until June. When I called the Ballard location they gave me the option to sign-up now and be charged when the West Seattle location actually opens, or sign up now/start paying and use any location. I go between Ballard (often two crowded) and Burien (usually not crowded at all).

We’ve called that number (on the banner) multiple times and have left multiple messages about interest. We have not heard a thing, I am pleased that the West Seattle Y is increasing in size, but the pace at which it will occur seems a bit slow, I am hoping that LA Fitness opens in June, does anyone know if it will be a signature club so we can use other clubs?
