KayleighMemberBDG, I think the people being driven away are the people who try to engage in respectful and interesting discussions, not House. I’m sure he has good qualities that I just haven’t seen yet, because I haven’t met him in person. *cough*
As illuminating and dysfunctional as this thread is, it’s at least more interesting to me than the where-can-I-get-drunk threads or the I-need-a-lawn-care-specialist-who-undersands-my-unique-needs-as-a-homeowner threads. :-)
PS Charla, I respect older people, with or without disabilities, and it isn’t false. I’m in my late 30s, though I have always felt that way.

beachdrivegirlParticipantI actually met House at the food drive and he was really enjoyable. We dont have the same view points politically but he was nice. I posted my comment because I think that a couple of times we (myself included) have chosen to attack one person because they have come down on someone who has been on the blog longer, we have met, or who maybe posts more then others on here. I dont like that. I also think that it is really hard (like NR said) to tell the tone of someones intentions through words typed. I enjoy this blog and just dont want to run others off of it.

charlabobParticipantBDG, I want you to respect me for my brilliance, my snarkiness, the fact that I’m usually right :-) and that I stand up to bullies. I was like this when I was young AND I’ll be like this when I can run marathons.
We aren’t going to drive House away — the only thing that will if is we ignore him.
If I ever appear to be run off, it will be because I’ve become bored — that isn’t likely.
In his tirade, house was perceptive about one thing — I do not attack him for what he says to and about me; I find it VERY unhealthy when the people he attacks suck up to him, and say, “Ain’t that cute?”
I would remind you that many people voted for bush in part because they thought they’d like to go drinking with him…so we have to be a little careful using that as a measure :-)
See ya’ at BPP…I’ll be the old lady drooling over your dogs.

KayleighMemberInteresting, BDG, because many of you (including you) passed any number of (incorrect) judgments on my character for what I said here, assuming you knew the intent and tone of my posts. Yet many of you (including you) now defend the House for saying far worse things with little or no apology.
Your prerogative to see things however you want, but it looks like a double standard to me.
Now it’s back to work for me.

beachdrivegirlParticipantYour absolutely right Kayleih and I even said that in my previous post. I then went on to say that I didnt like that. Me saying that I didnt like that was admitting that it is wrong.
