JanSParticipantOK..I’m really saying this half way facetiously, but…this forum member is going to have surgery a week from tomorrow, and will be stuck in the hospital for a few days with little contact with the outside world. I priced laptop rentals, and it is beyond my budget, considering that I need to conserve moola for when I’m recovering (self-employed – no sick leave, no pay – lol). So…here’s the shameless part…anyone out there with an extra laptop laying around that one might borrow for a few days? I think I would go through terrible WSB withdrawals if I couldn’t check the blog for 3-4 days. I’m really trustworthy…and might even throw in a barter once I’ve recovered…(click on my name if you don’t know what I do)….
ok…so if no extra laptops out there, does someone want to call me once a day to keep me up to date? lolol…it’s for my health after all ;-)

i don’t have a laptop…
i considered lending you my cellphone but don’t know how you would manage the little buttons and tiny screen on pain meds…
i mostly just use it as a phone.
how much is a rental anyway? i might need to know myself.

JanSParticipantI contacted A-1 Best Computers in the Junction (formerly Quidnunc). A week’s rental is $129….more than I’d like to spend, since I’d rather use it (the money) while I’m out of work. The guy was nice, but seemed to want me to commit right then since they “only had one left” right now. It’s not an unreasonable amount…just not really in my budget for now…
I know I’ll survive..and maybe catch up on my reading…but…hey…one never knows if one doesn’t ask…right? ;-)

miwsParticipantJan, I’m afraid I don’t have a laptop, so can’t help you out in that manner. I certainly would loan it to you if I did. I would even somehow mark the “h” and “e” keys to make them easier to find during your recovery when you may not be running at 100%. ;)
