Happening now – new security scammers in Arbor Heights

I just had another of these jackasses at my door, claiming to be “advertising” for ADT, “not selling anything” – except he then tried to “give” me a security system installation (no service) that “ADT will charge $1200 for. I used a couple of expletives that he claimed were offensive to his good “Christian” ears and sent him on his way. As usual, he had no ID. I’m really sick of this particular scam. It’s the same group, same approach, only they change their name every year.

Wearing blue polo shirts with a logo? I saw two guys matching this description walking through Arbor Heights around 4:30 PM on Mon. June 7th.

Those are the ones. They change their logo every year. Apparently ADT does actually outsource sales of this nature & the consumer complaints are tremendous. You’d think they’d realize that this isn’t really good advertising for their company.

He also told me that there had been several break-ins this week on this block of 35th. Anyone know if it’s illegal to make a false statement like that? Of course, everything they say is tricky, and they never answer a direct question. There has to be some way to stop these guys.
