We’re new to the area (Admiral Junction) and I’d like some input from neighbors about living Gluten Free in West Seattle :) Favorite restaurants, etc.

My calling in life is feeding those with ‘special dietary needs’ and would love to open a small specialty bakery/cafe (100% Gluten Free and accomodating other needs dairy free, etc.) here… any thoughts on how such a business would fare in this area?

    TY!

Lisa…I think you’d have an absolute success on your hands with something like that. Welcome to the Admiral District. I’m not gluten free, so can only recommend restaurants that I frequent, and I have no idea if they have gluten free fare or not. Try Blackbird Bistro, Mission or Circa – all within the 2300-2600 blocks of Calif. Ave. SW. There’s also Pailin Thai..I’m sure they’d have stir fry’s, etc, without noodles…

We’d love to see a vegan restaurant open over here. Now we make do with PCC (and their deli). Whole Foods is coming….how about something Carmelita of Cafe Flora-like over here?

    Yes, yes, yes!

I think there would be a HUGE response to a Vegetarian/Vegan/Raw/Special Dietary-type establishment. We have discussed it on here several times. Georgetown has a ton, but WS is definitely lacking!
