Hi, I found a very large (not fat but muscular) female tiger looking cat, probably technically a tabby but more tigerish than that. She was lying in a corner of my yard, walked toward me, but is leery and fearful. I have her in a kennel inside but cannot keep her too long due to my other pets, some of which are feral kittens recovering from lots of sickness and vet visits so I can’t expose them to anyone else. Please email robin at teamkona dot com if you are missing your cat. I’ll try to send a photo tomorrow.

Hi Robin: I happened to be at South Seattle Vet today and there was a flyer regarding a missing female tabby on their bulletin board. I have no idea how old the posting was, but it might be worth giving them a call.

    Thanks Velvet,

I just went there (SSV) but it’s not the same cat as the one on the flyer has a chip. The one I found has no chip and no collar. SSW posted her on their board though.

She’s gotten super affectionate. Huge yellow eyes. Looks like an exotic tabby mix but did I mention huge? Head fits in my armpit and bottom goes clear to my wrist. Think Christian the lion. OK, not quite the big.

So I’ll take her to SAS tomorrow unless someone else wants to try longer to find her owner. I just can’t fit one more cat. There are no more rooms in my house but she’s very lovely and adoptable if the owner isn’t found.

Hi Robin, Thank you for giving this cat a safe place, including if you take her to SAS.

It is very possible that someone is on vacation and she got out, (her behavior sounds like an indoor cat that got outside and now is not thrilled with that decision). If you have time to take a photo, make a little flyer and email it to us, we would be happy to print them and walk the flyers around the neighborhood to see if any one identifies her.

Please feel free to email us at furryfaces@hotmail.com or call 206-321-4729 to leave a message (don’t answer the phone during the day because I am at work). Thanks again, F3

So I posted her on craigslist, listed her with SAS lost pet hotline, went to every neighbor, and checked posts for flyers of missing cats. We slept together on the bathroom floor, yes, the floor last night. It was the only way I could get her to stop crying and the only room that has no pets in it or with access to it. She’s clearly someone’s because she snuggled in like she’s very accustomed to sleeping with her people.

F3 I got one picture of 25 where she’s not head butting too much to make it blurry, and can make flyers but had just ordered more ink yesterday and it’s not here yet so I can’t print flyers. If you are up for it I’ll email you.

Pamela and Velvet Bulldog thanks for your emails too. I think I’ve replied to everybody.

So I have 4 houses that didn’t answer their doors earlier and I’ll try them again this evening. SAS isn’t open today and Animal Control is on high priority cases today so they can’t guarantee a truck can come. We made arrangements for me to take her in tomorrow when they open at noon. They will hold her for three days and then temperament test her and adopt her out. She’s highly adoptable I’m certain.

    Thanks.

If Animal Control were contacted, how long would they keep the cat? I hope the owner is found soon.

RobinDian, what area of West Seattle did you find this tabby?

The cat, a MALE (very neutered if you kwim) is at SAS. They will keep him for 3 days and then put him up for adoption. He got his vaccines yesterday. Thanks for the help everybody. He deserves not to be in my bathroom and I deserve not to sleep on the bathroom floor with him (not that I wouldn’t continue if need be).

A big thank you to Robindianne. She is staying in touch with Seattle Animal Shelter so when this big, lovey guy is through his holding period and up for adoption she can announce it to everyone.

    Robindianne, you rock!
